Networking and building my status
Working on a portrait for a Taiwanese girl on Instagram I have done this for recognition to build followers and establish my self as an freelance illustrator, I am charging £30 for this job because is a small portrait.
Freelance work for a client
I received more work from another client the other day asking me to design his company logo, I have charged him £150 and am currently working with him because he is able to bring me more clients who I can potentially work with to earn more money.
This is a business owned by my client called water, who wanted a specific colour scheme of yellow, orang and white because it need to match the theme of his shop which was yellow based and these are all close colours which work with one another.

My Art Career
I have thought about my career as a freelancer and I have set firm on picking this path because is a business opportunity to make money for my self. I personally have always wanted my own business, creating my logo and registering it for the clothing sector was only the beginning, perviously I have already freelanced and earned a substantial amount of money for my profession, charging £150 per day. I would like to build on this and gain new contacts who need design work to help build my business so that I can start putting money into printing t-shirts and building my own clothing line. I have chosen this path because I want to make a name for my self, I want people to know me as an artist because of my originality in the way I design and the different approaches I use to design.
Working for some I personally think is pointless to me, personally I think employees just use you to absorb your talent to build their own business, you don't really serve a purpose to them you could just be considered as another work slave to a growing business which you don't personally own. I have read books which have inspired me to build my own business e.g. Rich Dad Poor Dad which followed a story of the author Robert Kiyosaki who tells the story about how his dad was a very well educated man that work for system and ending up in the rat race cycle of trying to sustain his family, house and money. The author talks about how he learnt about business by talking to his friends father who was a millionaire and taught him the importance of building his own business as a young child.
The book has taught a lot about building something for my self in order to earn good amounts of money for doing what I love and not earning peanuts for my hard earned work. I still continue to grow my business on Instagram finding new clients and building my work.

Clydecabbage
Clydecabbage is an artist who I am currently designing an album cover for, he says that he will be releasing a new 10 track mixtape called Cabbage Patch LP and told me to design anything for if but incorporate a cabbage symbol which is his signature logo. I have charged him £150 because this job will take me a day to complete because I like to illustrate with detail which takes a long time.

Job choice
1.) I am currently thinking of where to work in the future because I am struggling to make a decision between becoming a freelancer or working part-time for a company. Main factors are that being a freelancer will allow me to be my own boss and gives me an opportunity to build my own clientele, earning my own money will also allow me to build upon expanding the business I already have. On the other side, I am also debating on working for someone and earning a wage.
2.) The negatives I am considering are based on my income, freelancing is based on finding work and I am not sure whether I would earn enough to keep my business sustained or a roof over my head. Work for a company could also be a problem because I don't want to earn less in wage than what I could potentially turn over in term of profit if I work for my self.
3.) My objective now is to go through some options, research potential studios and freelancing opportunities online. Even though I am not entirely sure about either of my options, maybe combing both could help, work for someone whilst free lancing will mean that I can earn money from holding down a job in concept design or Illustration whilst carrying on with my own business to build my own business and income. Eventually, when my personal business is will grow meaning that I can leave my current job and work on something of my own.
These are some freelancing jobs I have been currently looking at, I really want to freelancing. I just need to make sure I pick jobs which pay a good amount for the work I do.
