Website research for printing
Before printing my final business card I research many different companies to find out about the quality of card, print, styles and prices they provided and how these four factors could benefit the final out come of my business card. I came across some negatives along the way to do with printing format and card sizes but I managed to find a site which covered these areas very well and provided a lot more options.
The final card looks very neat and very well thought through the colours work very well and the diamond is an icon which I have finalised as a symbol for my self and my business, I think that its message is that I deliver designs which are clear, well thought out and correct in representation.
Freelancing
In my personal time I freelance to help generate money, but also use it as a way of getting recognition through Instagram, I have had a few clients who have wanted me to design for them covering many different areas of design, this is being done to help me properly experience the field I am in. there has been both negatives and positive which have come from this experience, a negative could be not being paid for some of my work. I have learnt that it is all about knowing your self worth and how you would value your work as an artist, I think I need to work on my marketing skills because this a crucial skill needed when setting up a business, I personal can't decide on how to value my work, that is why I am planning on taking marketing course to improve these skills so that I can better my self as both an artist and enturpanure.

My Business
As an artist I have been working hard on developing my own identity because individuality is important to who I am as a creative artist, I don't plan on working for anyone. The reason for not wanting to work for a big corporate company is mainly because my work is valuable to my success as an creative individual and I don't want large companies e.g. Disney reaping the benefits of work I have personally created, instead I want to make a mark for my self and build my business further on in the future.
During the summer holidays, I have spent most of my time working on developing a visual identity for my business, the reason for my business name Malachite is because it is a close resemblance to that of my name Malachi. I needed a image that was different and a name that was clever and looked professional at the same time. The use of green and turquoise was intentional because what I wanted for my recently logo was for it to communicate also through colour, the colour in it self I feel states that my company is all about going and doing.
