Over
the course my main focus has been my personal professional practice and how I
work as an individual with in the animation industry both as an artist and an animator.
This project alone has allowed me to be free with my art style giving me a
chance to explore other artist with in this industry and try to find a style of
my own. I never really had a focused style before but doing this brief has
allowed me to develop a drawing which I can now feel proud of.
I
personally enjoyed taking part in this process because it has helped me to
explore other artist for inspiration and has helped me identify who I am as
both an animator and an artist and what style of animation I like to work with,
I now know that I want to work with animated gifs and music videos because I
like working on pieces which communicate through visuals and sounds, reason
being because I like to listen to a lot of Instrumental Hip-hop, House,
Footwork and many more electronic music genre’s because It helps me imagine
scenery and characters for animation, I personally think music has inspired me
to create most of the piece I now create. These ideas have developed from
watching advertisement created by E4 and Adult Swim I like how they make their
animation both effective but short using both colour and nice illustrative
visuals, the ideas behind them are both weird and interesting because they
leave you with an intrigued understanding of what you just watched.
PPP
has made me move forward with my career because it has encouraged me to search
and explore for inspirational material for me to develop and sense of direction
and a goal for the future so that I know what I want to achieve when looking
for a Job and working with in the professional industry of animation.
During
this process I have learnt various painting techniques and ways of drawing just
to make my drawings look neater than what they were in the past, most of these
videos have been found on YouTube. One of the Main artist I like to follow is
Mark Crilley for his techniques on shading and drawing because I believe that
the way he draws is very good in it style and he is very good with colouring,
which is something I need to practice more often.
I
have been looking at Shintaro Kago based on his style, I don’t like the gory
aspect of his work, I personally thing in his communication that he could look
about communicating a positive message without the the senseless gore, but I
really like his line work and colours and his style is both free in colour and
the way its illustrated, he does not restrict himself which is my idea with my
work, I want to be expressive through the use of colours and my style of
illustration. I am focussing on my pieces based on his style but I am making
them completely my own, I am only looking at the aspects in the way he presents
his work using colours and patterns.
As
I progress I will always continue this process of experimentation and will keep
looking out for other inspirational artist because this has improved my art
style a lot over the years and has given me an insight into what makes an
artist their own unique individual, I myself now know the skills I have
required and will now just keep working on improving my drawings with daily practice
and will used my new skills to my advantage an exceptionally well developed
portfolio of work to help push my career in the right direction.
